El futbolista argentino Marcos Senesi, reciente fichaje del Tottenham Hotspur, ha sustituido en la lista de su selección para la Copa Mundial de la FIFA 2026 a Leonardo Balerdi, jugador del Olympique de Marsella y que el pasado sábado sufrió una lesión muscular en el sóleo de su pierna derecha.
Con un breve mensaje en su cuenta de la red social X, la Asociación del Fútbol Argentino (AFA) confirmó este jueves la convocatoria de Senesi, central de 29 años, como reemplazante de Balerdi, zaguero de 27 años y que se lesionó durante un entrenamiento de la 'Albiceleste' en Texas.
Defensor del título logrado en la edición de Catar 2022, el combinado argentino debutará en esta cita mundialista de Estados Unidos, México y Canadá el próximo 17 de junio (03.00 horas) frente a la selección de Argelia. Después jugará ante Austria y más adelante cerrará su concurso en el Grupo J con el partido contra la selección de Jordania.
